A message from Michael Smith

 

I established Red Page Consulting in 2009 as a supplier of pragmatic, no-nonsense consultancy to publishers, academic institutions and charitable organisations. I specialise particularly in message, customer experience and brand credibility.

A word of warning: I don't do spin. My fundamental belief is that any marketing claim must be demonstrably true and is reflected by what the customer experiences. I don't invent spurious brands and I don't write words intended to deceive. That's not my style.

Some history

 

Before I began my consultancy work, I was a marketing and business development director for publishers Kogan Page, and Group Marketing Director at the Informa Publishing Group. I have held senior marketing positions for companies which include Lexis Nexis, and IBC Publishing. 

I hold an honours degree in History from the University of York, the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and pricing certification from the Professional Pricing Society. 

I am also a published author and acclaimed translator of two fourteenth century Middle English works: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (2018) and the Alliterative Morte Arthure (2020)
